Fifteen.

This one's going to be my comeback post after not blogging for about 3 months. Anyways, it was my 15th birthday or as what the Mexicans would call it, QuinceaƱera two days ago. We just had a simple dinner with family and friends for my birthday party and we were singing a mash-up of "Zombie" and "Just a Dream" which was an idea of a classmate of mine. So yeah, I'm fifteen years old  young already.

Before I end my post, I have an account on FanFiction.Net and I have already posted a few fanfics there, if you wanna check it out, the link's here: http://www.fanfiction.net/~xcharmcandyx.

The Lyric Video for Jennifer Lopez's Dance Again is now out!

That's right, the lyric video to Jennifer Lopez's new single, Dance Again is now out on Youtube but the single won't be out on iTunes until April 2. The past few weeks, only snippets of the single were leaked but today, the full song has already been premiered on Youtube through the lyric video. Here's the lyric video for J.Lo's Dance Again:

This song is already one of my favorite songs from Jennifer Lopez and this song has pure awesomeness written all over it. I'm pretty sure this song will be another number one hit from Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer never fails to come up with awesome music. This song might not just be another number one for J.Lo, it might even be crowned the Summer Anthem of 2012. Hands down! Jennifer Lopez is back with fresh music that are sure to wow us.

What do you think of this song? Awesome or not?

Triple Movie Review: The Lorax, The Muppets & The Hunger Games

First of all, I haven't been blogging that much lately because I have been busy with school and stuff but since school has ended already, I am already back and ready to blog!

Anyway, I have decided to post not just a movie review, but a triple movie review and for this movie review, I'm going to review The Lorax, The Muppets and The Hunger Games. This will also by my first post (and probably last) for the month of March. Before I start this review, I would like to remind you that this post will have spoilers of the movies that I have reviewed and it is recommended to proceed with caution. So much for that, I present to you my triple movie reviews:

1. The Lorax

The Lorax is probably one of the best movie adaptions of Dr. Seuss' works. The movie takes place in Thneed-Ville which is a walled city where other than the citizens, everything is completely synthetic. In the movie, there is an idealistic 12-year-old boy named Ted Wiggins who sets out to find the one thing that win the girl of his dreams, Audrey, who wishes to see a real tree. Ted does everything to get a real tree, even if it means being reprimanded by Aloysius O'Hare, the mayor of Thneed-Ville and the greedy owner of a company that sells bottled air for escaping from the city in order to speak to the Once-ler, the only person who knows the story about how the Truffula Trees disappeared.

What I liked about the movie is it's storyline and the music that were used in the movie. The movie is kinda like a musical-type film though it's not really a musical and the fact that the movie uses upbeat music makes the movie more interesting to watch. The movie also had a lot of life lessons which even makes it a good movie for people of all ages. The way the movie showed the consequences of depleting nature's blessings was delivered well to the viewers and if I were to give an overall rating to the movie, it would be a 10 out of 10. The Lorax is really an awesome movie, the storyline, the music and everything! And did I forget to mention? Taylor Swift is the voice actress of Audrey, which makes the movie even more awesome.

Before I end my review for this movie, here's an awesome quote from "The Lorax":

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
          -Dr. Seuss

2. The Muppets

The Muppets is yet another movie adaption of the Muppets franchise. The story revolves around a couple named Gary and Mary and Gary's brother, Walter who was a man born as a Muppet. Gary plans a vacation to Los Angeles with his girlfriend to celebrate their tenth anniversary and they take Walter along with them so he can tour The Muppet Studios. While on the tour, Walter finds out that Slater and Waldorf are planning to sell the theater to Tex Richman, an oil magnate. Mary, Gary and Walter must take on the challenge to reunite The Muppets together for a telethon in order to save The Muppet Studios from being sold even if it means putting Gary and Mary's relationship to the test.

The movie itself was well done to start with and the musical sequences fitted well to the scenes where it was needed. It's not just another kiddie movie but it's a movie that people of all ages can enjoy and relate to. Another thing that made the movie awesome were the cameo appearances of Jack Black and Selena Gomez. Jack Black plays as the partner of Animal in their anger management program and he also plays a role as the celebrity host of The Muppets Telethon which was made possible by Miss Piggy's plot of forcing him to host the show. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez is seen in the later part of the movie where she plays as one of the people who answered the phone during the telethon. Best scene of the movie? The scene after the telethon. It was the most upbeat scene in the movie in terms of the music that was used and it is also one of the most touching scenes of the movie. The scene ended with Gary proposing to Mary.

And before I end my review for this movie, my rating for this movie on a scale of 1 to 10 would be an 8.5.

3. The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is based on a multi-awarded book of the same name that was written by Suzanne Collins. I haven't actually read the entire book version of the movie, I have only read the first chapter of the book so I already had an idea on how the movie would start. The movie takes place in Panem, a country in the western side of North America. The story of the movie revolves around Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the tributes of District 12 and their adventures as they compete for the 74th Hunger Games and only one tribute survives and becomes the Victor of the contest.

First of all, I would like to say that Katniss was really kick-ass in the movie! And I would also like to say that Jennifer Lawrence played her role as Katniss well. So what if people think she's too large to play Katniss? That doesn't really matter you know. What really matters the most is that she did a great job with her role as Katniss. Hands down! Second, I liked the movie because of it's touching and thrilling scenes. The suspense in the movie was an intense one, especially in the scene where Katniss and Peeta got chased by a lion in the dark. The same level of suspense was also present in the scene where the forest where Katniss was hiding from other tributes went on fire. Overall, the entire movie was well done and I can't wait for the movie version of Catching Fire to come out and for my overall rating for this movie, I give this movie a 9.5 out of 10.

And before I end this post, today is the first anniversary of the release of Femme Fatale in the Philippines. Happy Femme Fatale day to all the Filipino Britney fans!

So, that's all for my post today and stay tuned for more posts!

New Boyband Alert: IM5

The return of the boybands gave us Big Time Rush, One Direction and Heart2Heart but just recently, another new boyband has hit the spotlight, meet IM5!

IM5 is a boyband that was put together by Simon Fuller, Jamie King and Perez Hilton and it's members are Cole Pendry, Dalton Rapattoni, Dana Vaughns, Gabe Morales & Will Jay. The band debuted at the Youth Rock Awards last December 7, 2011 performing their original song When Your Heart Beats, Feel It. Here's a video of their performance:

IM5 has also uploaded three cover videos to their Youtube channel and so far, my favorite cover from them is *NSYNC's It's Gonna Be Me. Aside from that, they also covered Jessie J's Domino and Shai's If I Ever. Check them out here.

Trivia about IM5:
  • Gabriel Morales is the eldest among the five members (he will turn 17 on June 22 this year) while Dana is the youngest among them. (Dana just turned 14 last January 2)
  • Will's first experience with musical instruments was at the age of 4 when he first learned to play the piano.
  • Dalton got his first hand experience with playing guitars at the age of 11 when his Grandma signed him up for guitar lessons and he also used to be in a band called Fly Away Hero before he joined IM5.
  • Dana started in the entertainment business at the age of 10 but he has been interested in performing since the age of 7.
  • Gabe is a Cuban and a Venezuelan who was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He states in his profile in the official IM5 website that he is a fan of How I Met Your Mother.
  • Cole had his first hand experience with musical instruments at the age of 4 but he didn't show interest in performing until he was in 6th grade when he joined his school's choir.

So yeah, today's Valentines Day. At first, I thought my day was going to be lonely but it turned out to be fun because of the events that happened today. One of the fun things that happened today were those kilig moments in class and this little Valentines Day that our section was having. Although we only had some pizza and those cupcake lollipops but we still had fun.

And because it's Valentines Day, here's a love song for everyone out there. The song's Saving All My Love For You by Whitney Houston.

To my readers, I wish you all a Happy Valentines Day!

Whitney Houston (1963-2012)

Whitney Houston was found dead yesterday and at first, I couldn't believe that this actually happened. I thought it was one of those Twitter fake death scams or something but from the news articles I've read about this, Whitney's publicist has confirmed it. I'm not really a fan of Whitney but her music has been a part of my life, though not majorly but still, I still find her music significant to my life. I remember back in 2008 when we had this CD that had tracks from Disney movie soundtracks and When You Believe by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey was one of the songs there. The first time I heard that song, I instantly fell in love with it. I also catch myself singing to the chorus of Whitney's songs like One Moment in Time and I Will Always Love You when no one's looking. (although I'm not really a good singer) I also remember hearing her song Greatest Love of All a couple of times. We also had this one CD that were composed of cover versions of famous songs and Whitney's Saving All My Love For You was one of the tracks and it also happened to be one of my favorite tracks.

Whitney is truly a legend. She is an inspiration to all of us and in one way or another, she and her music plays a role in our life . My prayers and thoughts are with her family. You will be missed but never forgotten.
