So there was this couple at school who celebrated their anniversary, (not quite sure if it's their 3rd) anyway, the guy surprised the girl by having his classmates hold a sign that reads "Happy Anniversary" on the ground floor of our school building and giving her bouquet of flowers. Anyway, the guy was waiting in the 3rd floor and our rooms during the examinations happened to be there (BTW, our exams just ended) and that was during recess time, so the girl was blindfolded and she was taken to the 3rd floor where the guy was waiting for her. When the girl arrived, she was led to where the guy was standing and she took off her blindfold and she saw of course, the guy, then she ran with joy 'coz she didn't expect that surprise. Then the guy was like kneeling down to her as if he was going to ask her hand for marriage and then the girl kinda ran again and she finally got the flower and hit him on the back with it 'coz she couldn't believe that the guy actually gave her that kind of surprise and then the guy kissed her on the cheek. It's kinda sweet you know.
The aftermath? Some freakin' tattletale reported the incident to our Student Services Coordinator and yeah, the guy who surprised his girlfriend got called into her office. (our Student Services Coordinator is a woman, BTW)
My reaction? Why do some people make love look like it's something bad to do. Whether it's in a romantic context or when it's about siding with those who need you most. I mean there's nothing bad with what the guy did, at least they didn't make out in public, the guy just gave the girl a simple kiss in the cheek and the girl didn't even get mad at the guy, that's 'coz they love each other and there isn't really malice to that you know. This incident kinda reminds me of the incident in Davao, the mayor punched the sheriff and she did it out of love for her people. Just because the incident happened out of love doesn't mean you can call it a violation, eh saan ba yung PDA doon? The kiss was just even a simple kiss on the cheek, there was no public make-out scene or the like. I can't blame our Student Services Coordinator 'coz she wasn't there when she witnessed the event, though I can possibly blame the tattletale for it. To that tattletale, whoever you are, ang KJ mo naman, there isn't anything malice sa ginawa nila. Put yourself in the place of the guy, how would you feel if you were faced with a sanction for doing something that is done out of love, doing something that isn't even disgusting and doing something that isn't even illegal at all. Love is NOT illegal for public eyes to see if it doesn't involve things that we shouldn't see, and by that, I meant they did not make out, it was just a simple kiss on the cheek and #2, no exams were disrupted since it happened during recess time. Use your common sense before going on with your tattletaleing spree. My point is, that event doesn't deserve a sanction you know, at least this event is much better than a rampaging bully beating up someone. A guy greeting his girlfriend a happy anniversary in school is much better than a rampaging bully beating up someone in school.
Lesson Learned? It's okay to show your love. Don't be a tattletale. Beware of tattletales.
